PRO ARTE GUITAR TRIO
Formed in 1987, the Pro Arte Guitar
Trio is recognised as one of the world's leading guitar
ensembles. The Trio's distinctive sound is obtained
by using a combination of different instruments: a clear,
ringing treble requinto, together with standard and
eight-stringed guitars.
The Pro Arte Guitar Trio has toured
Europe and has given concerts throughout the UK, including
many recitals at London's Purcell Room. They have
performed live on BBC Radio 3, Radio 4 and Classic FM
and have also appeared on BBC Television on "Jim'll
Fix It".
In addition to a unique repertoire
of arrangements, the Trio also has a growing number
of works written for them by composers such as Oliver
Hunt, Timothy Bowers and Andrew York.
Raymond Burley is an international
soloist and member of several chamber music groups.
He has toured the USA, Canada, Europe and the
UK and given many recitals at the Wigmore Hall and Purcell
Room. He has broadcast many times on BBC radio.
After gaining a BA in music at
Colchester Institute Cornelius Bruinsma went on to study
at the Guidhall School of Music and Drama where he gained
his Advanced Soloist Certificate. He has performed
as a soloist and ensemble player throughout the UK.
Peter Rueffer has a wide experience
of chamber ensembles involving the guitar; in these
capacities he has perfomed at London's Queen Elizabeth
Hall, Purcell Room and Wigmore Hall.
