LIDIA BAZARIAN: Piano
Lídia Bazarian is a distinguished
chamber and solo pianist in her country, working with
various ensembles, including the Novo Horizonte contemporary
music group.
After obtaining a degree in music
from the University of Sao Paulo she specialised in
piano and chamber music at the Ecole Normale de Musique
in Paris. She studied with Caio Pagano, Daisy de Lucca
and Edson Elias.
Concentrating on Brazilian music,
she has premiered and performed works for solo piano
by Brazilian composers such as Vera Terra, Silvio Ferraz,
Rodrigo Velloso and Harry Crowl. She has recorded three
CDs of Brazilian contemporary music.
From 1990 her career has become
increasingly international and she has given recitals
in the United States, France, England, Belgium, Denmark
and Japan, to critical acclaim.
